Washinkai karate is a recognised style of karate based upon wado- ryu. It was created by Chris Thompson(7th dan). More information about Washinkai can be found at his website www.btka.org.
We are interested in all aspects of traditional karate.
Although our main qualifications lie within Wado-Ryu, we also look at other styles of traditional karate such as Goju-Ryu, Shotokan & Shitoryu.
We still practice the traditional etiquette & syllabus of Japanese karate but use modern European teaching methods.
We take students from 8 years upwards and have both male and female instructors.
Visitors from all disciplines are welcome to join our training sessions as long
as they come with “Good heart & open mind”
Where are we?
Our main classes are at the Bawnacre centre in Irvinestown. We also run classes in Lisnaskea & Omagh.
Affiliations:
We are a member of ONAKAI which is the governing body for karate in Ireland recognised by the World Karate Federation (WKF).
